This week Pastor Tom continued covering 1st Corinthians. This new series, which will cover chapter 10, is titled, Never Give IN - Never Give Up, Part 1 - Jesus is the Rock. In I Corinthians 10, Paul points out that Christ was in the wilderness with the people of Israel while they were journeying to the promised land. 1 Corinthians 10:4 - "For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ."
The entire time that Israel was in the wilderness they were covered by a cloud during the day and fire at night. Underneath them was the Rock (Christ), the river of living water, supplying their needs. Pastor Tom explained that God wanted to give Israel so much more than just water if they had only asked for it. Psalm 81:16- He would have fed them also with the finest of wheat; and with honey from the Rock, I would have satisfied you.
