This week Pastor Tom continued exploring the book of 1st Corinthians in his ongoing series, The Power of Unity. He pointed out that the book of 1st Corinthians covers current social issues that are as relevant today as they were back in Paul's day. His message this week covers chapter 2. In chapter 2, Paul is trying to get the Corinthian church to understand that there are spiritual and carnal believers; verse 5 - "your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God" (resurrection of Jesus Christ).
Believers have been selected to learn the mysteries of God; verse 7- "But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory." Learning the mysteries of God will pull us together in unity.
