This week Pastor Tom gives his final message in The Power of Unity series. As he continues his in-depth exploration of the book of 1st Corinthians, he picks up in chapter 3. In verse 7, Paul emphasized that our identity should not be in the one who teaches us about Christ but in the One who sent the teacher (God and Christ).
Paul also introduced accountability for each individual in the church. "...each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is. If anyone's work which he has built on it, endures, he will receive a reward." (verses 13, 14)
Pastor Tom emphasized there is a difference between going to heaven and being rewarded in heaven. You get into heaven just by believing Jesus is the Savior, but it's what you are DOING today that will determine your rewards after you get into heaven.
