Pastor Josh gave this week's message titled New Testament Spirituality. He asks the question, "What are the attributes of Christianity?" In 1st Thessalonians 5:16 - 17, it says, "Rejoice always, pray continually." He goes on to explain that we were created to be joyful, and the joy of the Lord is our strength. "Joy is the gigantic secret of the Christian!"
Pastor Josh points out that "Paul's identity was not tied to what he could do for the Lord, but what the Lord did for him." We need to be consumed with what God has done for us. Every gift we have is a gift from God.
Philippians 4:6 Paul says not to be anxious about anything but by prayer and petition, with thankfulness, present your requests to God. We overcome anxiety by channeling it into prayer. Being aware of what we need is what brings us to our knees.
