This week we had the privilege of hearing from two Emerging Leaders in Church of Grace, Hector Baca, and Alyssa Tanner.
Hector's message, Efficient Sower, was on the parable of the sower found in Luke 8. He expanded on three areas from this parable: the seed, the field, and the sowers of the seed.
He explains what an Efficient Sower is, someone who listens and understands the Word of God, prepares their "field" by removing fleshly desires and becoming humble, and then spends time with God to produce fruit and share it with others.
Alyssa's message, Catalyst of Change in Your Sphere of Influence, was based on lessons she learned from her great-grandfather. He was a "catalyst of change" in his family's life. He locked himself in the attic and fasted for forty days until all four of his teenage sons came to Christ.
Alyssa then expounds on the story of King Josiah, found in
2 Kings 22. King Josiah was a catalyst of change in his kingdom by number one, seeking the Lord. He redirected his attention, energy, and resources toward seeking God. Number two, he responded to God's word with humility and action.
Alyssa pointed out "God is looking all across the earth for people who are going to seek Him and respond to His word."
2 Chron. 16:9- For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.
Please listen to these inspiring messages and learn how you can become an Efficient Sower and a Catalyst of Change in Your Sphere of Influence.
